Her Maine Man
Rarely a Groomsman, Not Yet a Groom - On July 10th, 2010, Linda Fessenden and Andrew Butterworth were married in the shadow of the Portland Head Light in Cape Elizabeth, Maine. I was honored to be a groomsman for Andy and to be on the receiving end of a "shout-out" by the officiant (Alan Fessenden) during the ceremony crediting me with putting these two love birds together. The shout-out along with the heartfelt vows made this wedding quite emotional for me. But, seeing as I was a groomsman I did my best to "keep it together," avoiding all temptation to use my pocket square as a handkerchief. Congratulations to the new Mr. and Mrs. Butterworth!

Vacationland-ing - Taking advantage of the opportunity to visit Maine (aka "Vacationland"), Robin and I took time to explore the mountainous area of this great state. We also picked up a few tidbits of interesting trivia (source: 50states) along the way.
- 99% of the country's blueberries are from Maine
- 90% of the country's supply of lobster comes from Maine
- 90% of the country's toothpick supply comes from Maine
- Maine is the only state that borders exactly one and the only state with exactly one syllable in its name

Mini-reunion - The unveiling of the new Mrs. Butterworth brought together Dartmouth College alums Zach Lowe, Kevin Goldman, Eric Del Pozo, Ilya Magazanin, Nathaniel Rink, Stephen Jackett, Erik Tanouye, Julie Sloane, Jaime Jackett, Sean Taylor, and, of course, Andrew Butterworth. The phrase "you haven't changed a bit" was thrown around enough times to deduce that, in the past 11 years, we have, in fact, changed a bit.
